The New Creation, Part 1: Laying the Groundwork

The Word opens with the story of the Lord creating the Earth in seven days. The New Church says that we should not take this story literally: it is not about the literal creation of the universe; it is about the spiritual creation, or recreation, of each individual person. This Sunday we will reflect on what the first three days can tell us about the early stages of spiritual rebirth, and how the Lord leads us step by step through them, rather than transforming us in an instant into perfect beings.
